When I first created this graphic, there were seven indicated strains of the Coronavirus. Most recently, scientists have identified an eighth strain. I showed these strains by color coding each one.

The virus spreads when people are exposed to the germs of those who have the virus. I wanted to show this spread by having microscopic grems trying to infect the earth.
